The Dental Crown Procedure
It is possible that you will need to schedule your crown procedure in between two appointments.
On your first visit:

- It is possible to rebuild severely damaged parts of the tooth. It will be similar to getting a filling.

- A temporary crown is prepared to fill in and protect the tooth. It is attached using temporary dental cement.
Second visit (typically after a few weeks):
- If the tooth is sensitive, a local anesthetic can be requested. This is not always necessary.
- The temporary crown is taken out and the excess temporary cement is removed.
- The final crown is placed on the tooth, and the dentist will confirm its fit with an x-ray.
- All adjustments to the bite will be made until you feel completely comfortable.
- To attach your crown to your tooth, permanent dental cement is used.
